MCF fulfills orders you send to Amazon from external channels (Shopify, your own checkout, etc.). MCF is priced 30–50% higher because you're using Amazon's infrastructure without bringing Amazon an Amazon sale.

Same warehouse, different channels. MCF fees are ~30–50% higher than FBA because Amazon is providing fulfillment without the attached Amazon sale.

For a Large Standard 1–1.25 lb item: FBA ≈ $5.04 base (before fuel surcharge), MCF Standard ≈ $7.35 base. After the April 17 / May 2 fuel surcharge, the gap widens slightly since both pay 3.5%.
Does the fuel surcharge apply to MCF? ▾
Yes — starting May 2, 2026, the 3.5% fuel surcharge applies to all MCF fees. Amazon FBA surcharge started April 17; MCF followed on May 2.
When should I use MCF instead of a 3PL for off-Amazon fulfillment? ▾
MCF wins when: you're already on FBA and don't want to split inventory, your off-Amazon volume is low and variable (no 3PL minimum commitment), or you need fast shipping speed comparable to Prime. 3PL wins when: you have consistent high off-Amazon volume, need custom packaging, or the per-unit 3PL rate beats MCF at your volume.
Can I use MCF for international orders? ▾
MCF supports domestic US orders and some international destinations through Amazon's global programs. For international fulfillment at scale, dedicated international 3PLs typically outperform MCF on cost and customs handling.
